The Poznan International Ladies Club (PILC) is a group of women whose common bond is speaking English; most are foreigners, but some members are Polish. We get together to socialize, to share a meal, to enjoy activities and sightseeing, and to support local charities.
This week was my first meeting of the PILC Book Club. Yvonne, our hostess, snapped this photo as we gathered in her back yard to discuss the books everyone had read. Isn’t this a beautiful setting? We moved indoors to enjoy the meal Yvonne had prepared for us, a salad, the delicious Swedish version of empanadas (obviously, I am more familiar with Mexican food than Scandinavian dishes) and a rhubarb pie with ice cream.
