Overdrive App – Digital Lending Library

October 9, 2011 by Lois Britton Leave a Comment

It’s time for another post that relates to favorite iPad apps.  As you might expect, I can buy books or audiobooks from iTunes or Amazon (via their Kindle app for iPad), but being the frugal person that I am, I was thrilled to find the Overdrive Media Console App.

With this app, I can “checkout” ebooks and audiobooks from my local library back in Tucson for three weeks at no charge.  Fortunately, I brought my library card to Poland with me because you do need the card number and pin to log in.

The selection isn’t as large as I would find by visiting the Pima County library, but if you just want to find an audiobook for a road trip, this is a wonderful service and the price is right!  This software will work with computers, androids, and blackberries as well as the iPad and iPhone.
