Cooking my way through From a Polish Country House Kitchen |
This week, we tried four recipes in From a Polish Country House Kitchen. A quick and easy cucumber salad to go with our 4th of July meal and plum jam early in the week. Plums aren’t in season yet, I just wanted to try it, so I made enough for one jar. Ed picked out a few recipes, two of them became our Sunday dinner.
Two of our four dishes include fresh dill – a taste that will always remind me of Poland. This was very refreshing, and the cool crunch went well with the jalapenos on our Sonoran hotdogs. |
Ed’s picks for Sunday dinner – excellent choices |
I’ve had Wiener Schnitzel a couple of times in Austria as well as in Germany. Why has it never occurred to me to make it at home? It was a big hit; I know we’ll make this again. |
Like bake-alongs I’ve done in the past, I’m not posting the recipes in From a Polish Country House Kitchen, but if you’d like your own copy, it’s available on Amazon.
