Oktoberfest Menu

October 4, 2010 by Lois Britton 3 Comments

My sister has volunteered with Arizona Greyhound Rescue for many years, and I though it would be fun to host a fundraising dinner for AGR in honor of her birthday.  Our date was set for October 2nd, which led to our Oktoberfest menu.

My sister suggested I use these note cards from etsy for the invitations.

My parents, who make their own beer and wine, were kind enough to supply us with German wines, complete with one of my sister’s greyhounds on the label.

Appetizers
Soft pretzels with honey mustard
Candied almonds
German beer and wine
Orangina
Main Course
Currywurst (brats and turkey kielbasa)
Red cabbage
German potato salad
Dessert
Chocolate peanut butter bacchanal
Apple-crumb coffee cake

YOUR PARENTS MAKE BEER AND WINE? How amazing is that??? PLEASE do post sometime, if they wouldn’t mind. Your menu sounds delicious. Lucky sister! Love greyhound rescue. When my husband had his triple bypass and was in deep trouble, a greyhound came with the hospital visiting dogs and helped snap him back. One day I will adopt one because it makes me sick what happens to former race dogs, just like horses.

Faithy and Vicki – they are an amazing pair. I’ve been thinking that I should post about some of their adventures which also include making bacon and sausage. At the moment, they’re replacing their fence, so fun stuff in the kitchen will have to wait.
