Remember the stadium cameras I was moaning about in my last post? The good news is the camera poles are retractable. Our camera hasn’t been blocking our view for the last few matches. If you look closely you’ll see that the lens appears to have a windshield wiper. You’ll also see the stands are packed with fans compared to recent attendance. In spite of the weak start to the season, it appears that Lech Poznan has a chance to make it into the Europa League. My prediction, if it happens: the players will be tired and possibly injured after their Europa matches, and their play in the ekstraklasa (Polish league) will suffer. Best news of the night, a 1 – 0 win!
I got to share my passion for cake decorating recently with the kitchen staff at Sweet Surrender. The cafe is now THE place to have a birthday party, complete with birthday cake and fantastic coffee beverages. I did feel a little guilty, running out at the end of our class, without helping clean up, but I had places to be. Ed, Benson, and I were on our way to Berlin for a concert that night at Quasimodo. We saw Fred Wesley and his band. Fred used to be the trombonist for James Brown.
It’s hard to have a better CV than that, but I enjoy jazz more when our daughter’s playing it. 😉
We also scoped out some of the tourist sites. Next month we’ll be in Berlin twice with family (both sides) visiting from the U.S.

Go Lech Poznan!!
Kasia
My dad is happy with the new coach. He told me that Lech won 6 out of their last 7 games. Go Lech!
I am not sure if the trips to Berlin made you switch to German:), but it is "ekstraklasa" in Polish:)

Melinda – you would love football matches!
Kasia – thanks so much for the correction! (feel free anytime, please) I was just typing it in Google the way it sounded in English hoping to get the correct spelling. I don't speak German, but I guess the double s should have tipped me off.
This is my 3rd season and I haven't seen crowds like this since my first match,
