Euro 2012 Day 5

June 12, 2012 by Lois Britton 3 Comments

Poland – Russia a 1:1 tie.  Hopefully a peaceful night in Poland.  I witnessed my first skirmishes between fans and fan zone security today – nothing major.   Between the language barrier and culturally different management styles/police tactics, I’m still kind of wondering what happened and why.  🙁  I was so hoping for a win tonight.

A day off from the fan zone tomorrow – maybe some lounging in the steam room.

I'm happy with the draw. Russians seem to be a good team in this year. What were the police tactics you wrote about?

Peter – I agree about the Russian team. It seemed to me that their passing was much more accurate. Re: police tactics – it was explained to us in training that for the most part, police would be under cover gathering info for evidence if needed, not in uniform en masse. To a great extent, crowd control is left to the civilian "ochrona" security staff.

    So much time was
