U2 in Poznan?

November 21, 2011 by Lois Britton 4 Comments

Rumor has it the Irish rock band U2 is playing in Poznan tonight at the very posh Blow Up Hall 50 50, a hotel/restaurant at  Stary Bowar mall.  The occasion?  A dinner to celebrate the upcoming grand opening of the autostrata (highway) to Berlin.  If true, this makes me very glad I’m not a taxpayer here – other than the generous VAT of up to 23% that’s tacked onto everything we purchase.

We are planning to pop into the Starbucks at Stary Bowar this afternoon to buy coffee beans.  I’ll keep my eyes open for Bono.  What do you think?  Will he be stopping by Pancake Square for some pierogi or zapiekanka with the locals before the show?
