Chocolate Fantasia, Silver City, NM

February 11, 2010 by Lois Britton 2 Comments

Last year, I connected with a fellow food blogger, Rob Connoley, on The Foodie BlogRoll.  Rob is a chef in Silver City, New Mexico, and he was kind enough to invite food bloggers in the desert southwest to attend Silver City’s annual Chocolate Fantasia.   The afternoon long event is a fund raiser for their local arts council.  I’m looking forward to strolling the historic downtown streets and sampling chocolate confections, and to top it all off, Rob has put together an exciting evening event.  To quote gilacommunity.net:

This year, MRAC has also joined with local gourmet chef Rob Connoley of the Curious Kumquat to present ā€œX’ocotal — An Evening of ā€˜Xtreme’ Indulgenceā€ offering an invitation to enjoy an ā€œā€˜Xtravaganza’ of savory and sweet chocolate treats and St. Clair wines to cap off your Valentine’s Celebration.ā€
ThiPostss event will be hosted from 6:30-9 p.m. at Gallery 400/Gila House at 400 N. Arizona Street and also includes music by Andrew Dahl-Bredine.

(Hopefully, this day and evening of chocolate will inspire me to whip up the HCB Double Chocolate Valentine on Sunday!)  If you’re in the area on Feb. 13th,  join us!

Rob did a great job at the Xtravaganza. I love to eat his wonderful food at curious kumquat and learn in his classes. Heather Robinson
