Gingered Nuts

Ingredients

  • 1 puns salted mixed nuts ( 3 cups)
  • 3/4 cup mined candied ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Combine nuts, candied ginger, cayenne, pepper, and sesame seeds
  3. Bring sugar and water to a boil in a small pan, stirring until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes
  4. Pour the sugar/water over the nuts and toss to combine
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the nuts in a thin layer on the prepared pan
  6. Bake 15 – 20 minutes
  7. Cool before breaking into small pieces
